The Research Computing Support Group at UTSA provides computing, storage and visualization resources to support research that has specialized or highly intensive computation, storage, bandwidth or graphics requirements. Typical applications include statistics, data analysis, molecular modeling, scientific and engineering simulation and visualization. $HOME directory - /home-new/abc123 - This directory is entirely controlled by you and the default permissions are that nobody else can see or access your files. This location is where you should store completed project data. It is backed up nightly and two weeks worth of backups are kept.
Work directory - /work/abc123 - This directory is where you should place any input/output files as well as logs for your running jobs. This directory is NOT backed up.
