About Shamu cluster

Shamu is UTSA's primary high-performance (HPC) resource; heavily utilized by researchers, students, faculty and staff from a broad range of disciplines.

Currently, Shamu is compromised of 113 compute nodes totally 2,880 cores and features:
  • 79 compute nodes, totaling 2,880 cores
  • 2 GPU nodes equipped with 8 NVIDIA Tesla K80 GPUs
  • 2 GPU nodes equipped with 4 NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs
  • 1 large memory node with 1.5TB of memory and 144 cores
  • 10Gbps Ethernet and 56 Gbps Infiniband networks
