Mascot is a proteomics software for analysing mass spectrometry data. It is only acessible while on campus on the VPN network.

Fair Use Policies:

• User is to manage and annotate their own searches and refrain from accessing other searches.
• If a user needs new data to be uploaded and searched against they need to submit a general support ticket (RCSG - General Support) here and attach the FASTA file.
• User is responsible for backing up their own data.
• The mascot server is part of a monthly patch cycle and will be offline for a period of 15-45 minutes to add updates which can result in possible job loss. Try to refrain from submitting jobs at the end of a month.

Fair Use Policies:

• User is to manage their own projects and projects they have been given explicit access to.
• Non-faculty accounts do not expire, regular users accounts need a sponsor and are good for one year.
• Non UTSA users are allowed with the permission of a faculty sponsor. The sponsor accepts responsibility for the users actions.
• To renew an account the sponsor (faculty member) must send a notice to the RCSG at rcsg@utsa.edu to renew the account for an additional year. A notice email is sent to users.
• If a user needs help with something regarding issues with the site submit a general support ticket (RCSG - General Support) here and explain the issue.
• Creating test projects is fine, however please refrain from having the system send out errant emails while testing.
• Users are responsible for backing up their own data from redcap.
